Privacy Policy
DataMatrix Junior creates and reads GS1 barcodes — GS1 DataMatrix, GS1 Digital Link QR, GS1-128, EAN-13 and UPC-A — and Chestny ZNAK (Честный знак) marking codes. The app is designed to work entirely on your device.
What data we collect
None. The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to the developer. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs. The app makes no network requests of its own.
Camera
The app uses the camera only on the Scan screen, to read barcodes. Camera frames are processed on your device by Apple's VisionKit and Vision frameworks. No photos or video are recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. You can turn camera access off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera; you can still paste codes as text.
What is stored on your device
- Scan history. The data of codes you scan or paste — the decoded text, the barcode type, and the time — so you can return to them in Library › Scans. Only the latest 200 scans are kept. You can delete a scan by swiping it, or all of them with Clear history. Scanned codes can contain identifiers such as serial numbers and, for Chestny ZNAK codes, verification keys and crypto signatures; they stay on your device.
- App settings, such as the options you chose on the Create and Export screens.
- Exported files. When you export a PNG, SVG, or PDF, the app writes the file to its temporary folder and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next — Files, Photos, Mail, AirDrop, or another app — is your choice and is handled by iOS and the app you pick. Saving an image to Photos uses add-only access: the app cannot read your photo library.
None of this leaves your device, and all of it is deleted when you delete the app.
Clipboard
The app reads the clipboard only when you tap Paste or paste into a field yourself, and writes to it only when you tap a Copy action.
Links to websites
Some screens link to outside websites, for example the pages on markirovka.ru that
describe marking code structures. They open in your browser only when you tap them, and those sites
have their own privacy policies. The app never opens a link from a scanned code on its own.
Purchases
The current version is free and has no in-app purchases. If we add them, they will be processed by Apple through the App Store: we will not receive your name, Apple Account, or payment details, and the app will only learn whether a purchase is unlocked.
Network printing
Printing to network label printers is planned for a future version. When it is available, the app will connect directly to the printers you choose on your local network to send label data, after iOS asks for your permission to use the local network. Data sent to a printer stays on your network.
Crash reports
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us in anonymized form. We use them only to fix problems. You control this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Children
DataMatrix Junior is a business tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
The current version of this policy is always published on this page. If we make material changes — for example, when a new feature handles data differently — we will update the effective date.
